What are the differences between The Duke and I book and the Netflix show (Episode 1)
I recently finished reading the book The Duke and I, and am currently rewatching the Bridgerton Netflix series. I will go episode by episode to list out the differences between the book and the show. The Duke of Hastings is a 6 feet tall white male with blue eyes in the book but the show has cast a Black man. Daphne Bridgerton is in her third season in the book and is almost on the shelf. Whereas she is a debutante on the show. She is termed the 'Diamond of the first water' by Lady Whisteldown and complimented as 'flawless' by the Queen. They meet at Lady Danbury's ball when Nigel is practically begging Daphne to marry him, where she knocks a punch at him. Simon doesn't know that she is a Bridgerton just yet and has a flirtatious moment with her. Anothy invites Simon for dinner with family. In the show, the visit is arranged by Lady Bridgerton and Lady Danbury as a matchmaking effort between Simon and Daphne. The book doesn't showcase Anthony Bridgerto
